Stoke City welcome Plymouth Argyle to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday looking to claim a victory which would move them onto 50 points with two matches of the campaign left to play.
The Potters came from behind for the third time in four matches last weekend to claim a share of a spoils with Sheffield Wednesday, with Luke Cundle equalising in front of almost 4,000 travelling supporters at Hillsborough.
Like Cundle and Niall Ennis, Steven Schumacher will come up against Pilgrims for the first time since leaving Home Park, with the latter switching Devon for the Potteries in December to become City’s Head Coach.
In his four-and-a-half years at Home Park, Schumacher helped Argyle rise from League Two to the Championship, leading them to the third tier title last year with 101 points.
Schumacher was replaced at the helm by Ian Foster before the Pilgrims’ Director of Football Ian Dewsnip took interim charge at the start of the April as the side fought to retain their Championship status. Since then, Argyle have picked up seven points from a three-match unbeaten run.
In the reverse fixture at the start of December, it was Argyle who ran out winners when Adam Randell struck in the seventh minute of stoppage time to claim a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
That result at Home Park was the first time in six matches the Pilgrims had beaten the Potters. The overall record dating back to 1930 reads; 19 City wins, 10 Argyle victories and 13 draws.

His most recent outing was at Ashton Gate where Bristol City recorded a 5-0 victory at home to Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
