Bio

Dujon Sterling arrived at Stoke City on loan from Chelsea in September 2022 after spending the previous season at fellow Championship side Blackpool.

The former England youth international made 25 appearances for the Tangerines, playing as both a right-back and a right-wing-back. Sterling helped Blackpool survive comfortably during their first season back in the second tier as they finished 16th following their promotion from League One.

Prior to spending time at Bloomfield Road, the defender enjoyed loan spells with Coventry City and Wigan Athletic, amassing 50 appearances.

Sterling’s versatility is one aspect of his game which has helped him progress in the game as he can play in multiple positions, including right back, right wing-back, left back, centre back, and has even registered an appearance up front during his time in Chelsea’s academy.

He is strong, quick, and very difficult to beat in one-on-one scenarios, while he is also adept at getting forward to create opportunities for his side’s attackers.

Sterling is also no stranger to silverware. By the age of 22, the London-born defender had already won the FA Youth Cup twice with Chelsea, alongside two UEFA Youth League trophies and an U18 Premier League title. Sterling was also a part of the England Under-19s squad that won the Under-19s European Championship in 2017.

During his time at Chelsea, Sterling has played with some serval current England internationals such as Reece James, Mason Mount, and Conor Gallagher.
