Right-sided defender Luke Redfern joined the Potters from Burton Albion in summer 2022. Born in Loughborough, he had previously come through the Brewers’ youth system, and spent time on loan at Nuneaton and Sutton Coldfield before transferring to North Staffordshire.

Redfern made his competitive Under-21 debut in August 2022, away to Middlesbrough, before being loaned out to Southern League Premier Division Central outfit Hednesford Town two months later. He re-joined the Potters in January 2023.
