- Young Potters stopper agrees new long-term contract
- 18-year-old will join Solihull Moors on loan
- Simkin to move to National League side ahead of 2023/24 season
England U18 international goalkeeper Tommy Simkin has committed his long-term future to Stoke City.
The young stopper has put pen-to-paper on a new contract which will see him remain at the Club until at least 2026.
After signing his new deal, the 18-year-old has linked up with National League side Solihull Moors on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The move to Damson Park will be Simkin’s second taste of senior football following a temporary stay at AFC Fylde last summer.
“Tommy has benefitted from the opportunity he has earned to train with Jonathan Gould and the first team goalkeeping group in the past few months,” Technical Director Ricky Martin said.
“We have a clear pathway and plan for each of our young players and, for Tommy as a goalkeeper, the chance to go and play senior football is integral to his development.
“For Tommy to be able to experience such a good level on loan at his age is a credit to him.”
