Stoke City have announced a new partnership with local street furniture manufacturer Broxap, who have become the Club’s inaugural Academy sponsor ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Broxap’s brand needs little introduction to City supporters, many of whom will recall the Chesterton-based company’s branding on the front of the Potters’ shirts 28 years ago, when the infamous SAS - Mike Sheron and Simon Sturridge – fired Lou Macari’s side to a 4th place finish in the 1995/96 First Division and a memorable League Cup victory at Premier League Chelsea.

As part of the new agreement between the two parties, Broxap’s branding will now feature prominently on the front of all Academy age group shirts from Under-9s to Under-18s, with the local business keen to support the next generation of homegrown talent progressing through Stoke City’s Category One Academy.

“We are delighted that the Broxap brand will appear on the front of Stoke City’s Academy shirts and equally proud, as lifelong supporters of the Club, that through our new sponsorship we are going to be supporting the young footballers within the Club’s Academy programme,” Robert Lee, Broxap’s Managing Director explained.

“For many supporters – like ourselves – there will be a feeling of nostalgia in seeing the Broxap brand on the front of a Stoke City shirt once again, and it is our hope to see future first team stars enjoying success in the red and white, while showcasing our company logo as many former greats did in the ‘90s.

Stoke City FC’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon King, added: “We are delighted to welcome Broxap back to the front of a Stoke City shirt, 28 years on from their previous shirt partnership with the Club, as the first headline sponsor of the Stoke City Academy.

“It is a great story and perfect opportunity for both parties, with Robert and his family recreating the partnership from over two decades ago to support the next generation of players progressing through the Club’s Academy.
