Stoke City have completed the signing of Junior Tchamadeu from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old, who won the League Two Young Player of the Year in 22/23, has penned a four-year contract with the Potters.

“Junior is an exciting prospect who possesses all of the physical and technical attributes to enjoy a successful career in the game,” said Technical Director Ricky Martin.

“He is a player we have been interested in for some time and we are delighted to have got the deal over the line.

“To have produced high-quality performances with consistency at such a young age demonstrates tremendous potential.

“We are looking forward to helping him fulfil that here at Stoke and we wish him well for his career with the Club.”

Tchamadeu, who netted five goals and provided two assists in 41 appearances for the U’s last season, believes the bet365 Stadium is the perfect place to achieve his lofty ambitions in the game.

“Since I first learned of the interest, I have been eager to complete the move to Stoke City and start the next chapter in my career,” Tchamadeu explained.

“It feels like an exciting time to join and further develop my game with an ambitious Championship club.

“I believe with my pace, power and energy, the high intensity, front-foot football the team plays will suit my game perfectly.”
