Stoke City Club Captain Ben Gibson was the special guest as pupils at Moorside High School were rewarded for excelling in their work with the Community Trust as part of the Premier League Inspires programme.
Participants at the school are provided with support around resilience, communication and wellbeing through one-to-one and group sessions.
“The children have been working really hard so it was great to come and celebrate their achievements with them,” Gibson said.
“It was good to share my own experiences of how hard I had to work to have the career I have had and, hopefully, having been in their shoes, I was able to have a positive influence on them.”
