Stoke City will conclude their pre-season match programme with the visit of two-time Eredivisie winners AZ Alkmaar to the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, August 3 (3pm kick-off).
The 22/23 UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finalists achieved a fourth-place finish in the Dutch top-flight last season to secure European football at the AFAS Stadion for a fifth consecutive campaign.
The ST4 encounter will also mark the return of former City defender Bruno Martins Indi to the bet365 Stadium.
The 32-year-old Netherlands international, who made 137 appearances during a five-year stay in the Potteries, has donned the captain’s armband for AZ since his initial loan move was made permanent in 2021.
Ticketing and hospitality information for the bet365 Stadium clash will be released in due course.
The home fixture completes City’s pre-season schedule, which also includes a training camp in Ireland in mid-July.
The Potters’ players return to Clayton Wood on Monday, July 1, and will commence their fixture programme at Chester FC on Thursday, July 11 (7.45pm).
Steven Schumacher’s side then face Cork City midway through their training camp on Wednesday, July 17 (7.45pm kick-off), returning to the UK the following weekend.
A short trip to South Cheshire will follow for City, who face Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflake Stadium on Tuesday, July 23 (7.30pm).
The Potters then face 23/24 League Two winners Stockport County on Saturday, July 27, with the Edgeley Park encounter to kick-off at 2pm and be played over two 60-minute halves.
City’s penultimate pre-season fixture is also against League One opposition in Greater Manchester as the Potters travel to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, July 30 (7.30pm kick-off).
