  • City travel to Elland Road on Tuesday
  • Potters buoyant following weekend victory
  • Over 1,500 supporters will journey to West Yorkshire

Stoke City will look to back up their weekend triumph when they travel to Elland Road on Tuesday to face high-flying Leeds United (7.45pm kick-off).

The Potters bounced back to winning ways two days ago when a goal in either half from Bae Junho and Lewis Baker earned a 2-0 victory against Middlesbrough at the bet365 Stadium.

It’s a result which provides the Potters with a much-needed boost heading into the first of back-to-back away fixtures against United on Tuesday and Preston North End four days later.

Daniel Farke’s side have acclimatised well to life back in the Championship following a three-year absence, occupying third place heading into the final 11 matches of the season.

United had targeted a tenth successive league victory on Saturday against Huddersfield Town but were forced to settle for a point at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Only second placed Ipswich Town have lost fewer matches than the Whites this season, however one of their six defeats came at the bet365 Stadium in October when a Pascal Struijk own goal earned the Potters maximum points.

That 1-0 win for City made it five victories from the previous eight meetings between the sides dating back to a 4-0 triumph at Elland Road in October 2006. Thirty-one of the 96 matches have ended in the Potters’ favour while United have won 47 encounters.

REF WATCH

Oliver Langford has been chosen to oversee proceedings in West Yorkshire on Tuesday evening.

The experienced EFL official is no stranger to the Potters this season having been in the middle at Carrow Road in September when Norwich City ran out 1-0 winners and November’s goalless draw at the bet365 Stadium with Cardiff City.

Langford last took charge of a match involving United in the first month of this year as Daniel Farke’s side ran out 3-0 winners at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The West Midlands-based referee has presided over 24 matches in EFL and FA competitions this season, dishing out 81 yellows and five reds. He has also pointed to the penalty spot on two occasions.

His most recent outing was at the end of February at Ewood Park where Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City played out a 1-1 draw.

Assisting Langford at Elland Road will be Hristo Karaivanov and Sam Lewis. James Linington will act as the fourth official.
