REF WATCH

Michael Salisbury will referee his first match involving the Potters since the start of the 2023/24 season when Mark Robins’ side face Cardiff City.

The Lancashire-based official was in the middle during City’s 6-1 victory over Rotherham United in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Salisbury is more familiar with the Bluebirds having refereed their away defeat to Burnley (5-0) and Leeds United (7-0) during the current campaign.

Across 19 matches in 24/25, the official has dished out 59 yellows and four reds. He’s also pointed to the penalty spot on two occasions.

His most recent fixture was last weekend’s top flight meeting between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, a clash which the former won 3-1 in North London.

Richard West and Derek Eaton will assist Salisbury in the Welsh capital while Scott Tallis will act as the fourth official.
