Bio
Northern Ireland midfielder Jordan Thompson joined the Potters from Blackpool in January 2020, having previously spent three years on the books of Scottish giants Rangers.
He was born in Belfast and began his first steps towards a professional career in the academy of Manchester United, before heading north of the border after being released in 2015.
While at Ibrox, he went out on loan to Airdrieonians, Raith Rovers, and Livingston, but as Rangers went through a quick succession of managers, he found himself increasingly unable to break into the first team.
Eventually, he was released in the summer of 2018, and joined then-League One side Blackpool on a two-year deal, making a total of 67 appearances in midfield across his time on the north-west coast.
He also attracted the attention of the Northern Ireland senior team and made his first international start in a friendly against Luxembourg in September 2019.
In January 2020, Thompson switched to the bet365 Stadium and the midfielder appeared for the Potters for the first time off the bench in a trip to Derby County.
