Dara McGuinness signed for the Potters in the summer of 2022 from Irish giants Shamrock Rovers.
A native of Athlone, McGuinness began his junior career with St. Joseph’s FC in his hometown before moving to Dublin-based side Belvedere. McGuinness would sign for St. Patrick’s Athletic before eventually joining Rovers in 2020.
Prior to joining Stoke City, the Irishman spent the previous three campaigns with the League of Ireland champion’s B team, Shamrock Rovers II, in addition to the Hoops’ Under-17s and Under-19s.
McGuinness made his debut for Kevin Russell’s side in a 1-0 win over Newcastle United on the opening day of the Premier League 2 Division Two season.
The Irishman has also received international call-ups to represent his country at Under-16, Under-18, and Under-19 levels. McGuinness has appeared in eight games across those age groups for Eire, scoring three goals.
